
You live in Yuma, AZ, the sunniest place on earth… at least part time. Why not make a rebar cactus for your tabletop or backyard? #saguaro
First, learn the basics about welding safety, Second, learn about GMAW (MIG welding) and power tools such as a chop saw and/or angle grinder. (Demonstrations and practice time are provided.) Next, bend rebar at your whim. Then, cut the rebar into shapes that make you happy. Finally, weld everything together to create your rebar cactus masterpiece.
DETAILS
- ALL classes begin with safety. As such, all necessary safety gear is provided including safety glasses, welding jackets, gloves and welding helmets along with hearing protection when necessary.
- If you already have your own safety glasses that fit you perfectly (Rx or otherwise), you are welcome to bring them.
- This class is co-ed.
- In order to get the individual instruction and attention you need, we typically limit this class to a small group of no more than 12-16 people.
- Children are permitted to register. So far, we have taught kids as young as 5 years old but only you know how mature your child is. (If you have a mature child under the age of 7, please contact us so we can discuss the possibility of participation.) Children under the age of 14 are asked to register and participate with an adult.
- WEAR jeans, cotton t-shirt/tank top and closed-toe shoes. Leather shoes or boots are preferred; tennis shoes are OK. Please, no sandals. Also, ensure ankles and feet are completely covered.
- Water, tea and light refreshments will be provided.
